Who can apply to sell on TikTok Shop?

Applicants must:
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess a valid Mexico government-issued ID (Permanent Resident Card, Temporary Resident Card, INE card, Passport) in order to register as a seller on TikTok Shop.
  • Not be associated with a government, politician, or political party.
There are two types of sellers that can sell on TikTok Shop: individual sellers and business sellers. All applicants must register and apply via our platform to be a seller before they can list products on TikTok Shop. As part of the application process, applicants must provide information and documents.
  • Cross-border sellers are not allowed to register as individual sellers.

What type of documentation do I need to register as a TikTok Shop seller?

Below are the documents needed to register as an individual seller or a business seller. Please note that all uploaded images/files must be clear, high-quality, and in color. TikTok Shop reserves the right to request additional information from applicants to ensure a seller is qualified to be a TikTok Shop seller.
Individual sellers are required to provide TikTok Shop with the following information:

Valid Mexico government-issued ID (Permanent Resident Card, Temporary Resident Card, INE card, Passport) with the expiration date.
  • The name on the submitted ID must match the applicant's registered TikTok Shop account.
Valid bank account and tax information./
Domestic residential address and Proof of address.
  • Proof of address can be bank statements, utility bills.
Selfie video holding ID document
  • Upload a Selfie video where the Owner ID is holding the same ID document they submitted. Face and information on ID document must be completely visible.
  • Make sure to record the video in a good-lightning environment.
Business sellers are required to provide TikTok Shop with the following information:

Valid Mexico government-issued ID (Permanent Resident Card, Temporary Resident Card, INE card, Passport) of the business seller's legal representative with the expiration date
  • The name on the submitted ID must match the applicant's registered TikTok Shop account.
Company Federal Taxpayer Registry number and file (RFC)
  • The RFC file must be issued within the last 60 days, and shows the date of issuance.
Valid bank account and tax information/
Domestic residential address and Proof of address (optional).
  • Proof of address can be bank statements, utility bills.
Individuals or groups representing public companies or corporations that are not beneficial owners may be asked to provide a letter of authorization issued by the business upon whose behalf they are registering.

How many seller accounts can I have registered on TikTok Shop?

TikTok Shop allows sellers to register up to five (5) seller accounts. Individual sellers can register 1 seller account.

What can I name my TikTok Shop?

All applicants must create a shop name that does not exceed 40 characters in length.
Shop names cannot contain any of the following:
  • Mention "TikTok" without TikTok Shop's authorized permission
  • Mention any third-party platforms without authorized permission, such as Amazon, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
  • Mention any brand names without the brand owner's authorized permission, including words such as "official," "flagship," "authorized," "brand," etc.
  • Mention any corporate name of another entity without authorization.
  • Mention any names, surnames, nicknames, or aliases of individuals who have gained such prestige, recognition, or fame that their use could create a risk of association, induce error, confusion, or deceive the consuming public, without authorization.
  • Mention any title of a literary or artistic work when said work holds such relevance or recognition that the shop name could potentially mislead the public or induce error by falsely suggesting any association between it and the work, without authorization.
  • Mention any external contact information or websites like phone numbers, social media accounts, etc.
  • Comparisons or exaggerated descriptions, such as "the best," "vs.", etc.
  • Duplications of other TikTok Shop shop names
  • Gibberish, such as random sets of numbers, letters, or special characters
  • Illegal information, discriminatory language, hate speech, or content that attacks or incites violence against an individual or group
  • Abusive or violent content, including but not limited to threats, harassment, or disparaging statements
  • Political extremism, including any fascist related symbolism; specific numbers associated with political extremism
  • Explicit or sexually suggestive content
Please note that TikTok Shop reserves the right to reject any shop name that does not follow the requirements above.

When can I start selling on TikTok Shop?

All sellers must be registered and approved on TikTok Shop before they can list any products on TikTok Shop.
