Our TikTok Shop Restricted Products Policy outlines our rules for restricted product categories for sale on TikTok Shop in accordance with our policies, as well as adhering to federal, state, and local laws.
Important Note: TikTok Shop may take enforcement actions against sellers or creators who breach this policy in accordance with our Seller Terms of Service. Products offered on TikTok Shop must comply with all applicable federal, state, local laws, as well as all TikTok Shop's policies related to those products and their listings.
Sellers are required to adhere to the requirements set forth in this policy and TikTok's Community Guidelines. This policy is not intended as legal advice. We encourage sellers to seek independent legal advice if they have questions about the laws and regulations concerning their products.
Irrespective of any approvals granted by TikTok Shop for the listing of restricted products, it is the Seller's sole responsibility to ensure that its products and listings offered on TikTok Shop comply with all applicable laws. Approvals granted by TikTok Shop do not constitute any assurance or confirmation with regards to product quality, legality and validity, which remains as an exclusive responsibility of the Seller at all times and under any circumstances.
This policy can be updated regularly. It's the responsibility of sellers to frequently refer to this page to ensure compliance with our most up-to-date policy.

Definitions

• A seller refers to any individual or business that sells items on TikTok Shop.
• Content refers to all forms of media that can be uploaded by creators or sellers to TikTok Shop. This includes all available formats such as pictures, videos, and live streams.
• Prohibited products refer to products banned from sale on TikTok Shop due to local, state, and federal regulations or considered a risk to TikTok Shop's customers and users. The details of the policy are outlined in the TikTok Shop Prohibited Products Policy.
• Restricted products refer to certain categories of products that require approval from TikTok Shop prior to being listed on TikTok Shop. Sellers who wish to sell restricted products must pass the "Product Listing Approval Process" before listing such products on TikTok Shop. This process requires sellers to submit certain documents based on the product category, as summarized below.

Restricted Products

Restricted products are certain categories of products that require pre-approval from TikTok Shop to be sold. All sellers must pass a product listing approval process before selling restricted products on TikTok Shop. This process requires sellers to submit documents for each product subject to restricted product requirements. Documents may include but are not limited to: certifications, testing reports, product or package images, and other qualifications.
The policy below sets out the documents sellers must provide to TikTok Shop as part of the approval process for listing restricted products. The list of documents below is not exhaustive, and TikTok Shop reserves the right to request additional documents during the product approval process at our own discretion. Sellers who do not pass the product approval process are prohibited from listing restricted products on TikTok Shop. In certain cases, TikTok Shop may approve other means of satisfying product listing requirements.

Beauty and Personal Care Products

Beauty and personal care products are defined as cosmetics that are intended to be applied to the human body for cleaning, beautifying, or altering the appearance without affecting the body's structure or functions. Beauty products include, but are not limited to, makeup, makeup sets, perfumes, face and body creams and lotions, oils and other solutions, blushers, skincare kits, and mouthwash. All sellers who wish to list beauty and personal care products must ensure their products are safe for customers, compliant with applicable laws/regulations, and submit the qualification documents and fill in mandatory attributes listed below as part of the product approval process.
In addition, sellers must include clear images of the product's label/packaging, showing all key information in Spanish, including but not limited to, list of ingredients, usage instructions, country of manufacture and any necessary label warnings.
Beauty products include, but are not limited to, makeup, makeup sets, perfumes, face and body creams and lotions, oils and other solutions, blushers, skincare kits, and mouthwash.
Sellers who wish to list beauty products must ensure their products are safe for customers, compliant with applicable laws/regulations, and shall submit the supporting documents and fill in mandatory attributes listed below as part of the product approval process. For sake of clarity, this list is non-exhaustive and it remains the Seller's sole responsibility to ensure that these and any other legal requirements under applicable laws are complied with.
Important note: We reserve the right to permit the listing of disposable menstrual pads only from well-known, reputable, and secure brands that meet our quality and safety standards. Sellers wishing to list disposable menstrual pads must comply with all applicable requirements and may be subject to additional review and approval prior to listing.

Electrical Products and Electronics

Sellers who wish to list electrical products and electronics must obtain the necessary product approvals.

In addition, sellers must include on the product detail page clear images of the product's label/packaging, showing all key information in Spanish, including but not limited to, name and address of the domestic producer or importer, country or origin and nominal power supply characteristics of the product.

Invite-Only Products

Invite-only products are certain categories of products that require pre-approval from TikTok Shop to be sold. All sellers must successfully go through a product listing approval process to sell invite-only products on TikTok Shop. This process requires sellers to submit product certification in accordance with this policy. Required documents may include but are not limited to certifications, testing reports, and product or package images.

Dietary/Food Supplements

The following types of food or dietary supplement products can be listed on TikTok Shop if the seller has submitted the required documentation. Food or dietary supplements are ingestible products that come in pharmaceutical forms (such as tablets, capsules, softgel, gelcaps, powders, and liquids), aiming at supplementing the diet. These supplements can contain vitamins, minerals, dietary fibers, or other substances (like amino acids or fatty acids).
Supplements must be correctly described and labeled in Spanish. Sellers who wish to list supplement products on TikTok Shop must submit the documentation listed below to TikTok Shop as part of the product approval process.

Automotive & Motorcycle

Certain motorcycle parts and automotive lights are allowed on TikTok Shop. Sellers that list these select products require pre-approval from TikTok Shop and must successfully go through a product listing approval process to sell these invite-only products on TikTok Shop.

Packaged or prepackaged foods and non-alcoholic beverages

TikTok Shop will allow the sale of packaged or prepackaged food products and non-alcoholic beverages only by pre-approved sellers. Interested sellers must obtain prior approval from TikTok Shop and successfully complete the corresponding authorization process in order to list such products. The sale of prepackaged food products on TikTok Shop will be permitted by invitation only.All sellers wishing to offer prepackaged food products must comply with current health regulations, including, but not limited to, the provisions of the General Health Law, the guidelines issued by COFEPRIS, as well as NOM-051-SCFI/SSA1-2010 and its amendments, regarding the labeling and commercial and health information of food products.
It is the responsibility of each seller to ensure that their products:

• Are properly labeled in accordance with labeling regulations.
• Have a bar code (GTIN, UPC, etc.).
• Comply with applicable Advertising and Health Control regulations.
• Are safe for human consumption.

TikTok Shop reserves the right to request additional documentation or suspend the sale of any product that does not comply with these provisions or that poses a health risk to consumers.

Pet food and supplements

TikTok Shop will allow the sale of pet food and supplements products only from sellers who have been previously authorized. Interested sellers must obtain prior approval from TikTok Shop and successfully complete the required authorization process to list these types of products. The sale of pet food and supplements on TikTok Ship is permitted by invitation only.All sellers offering pet food and supplements must comply with all applicable local and national regulations, including, but not limited to:

• Requirements established by COFEPRIS and SENASICA (National Service for Agrifood Health, Safety and Quality).

As part of the product listing and approval process, sellers must:

• Provide SENASICA registration number for the relevant products;
• Submit any additional documentation requested by TikTok Shop for verification purposes.

TikTok Shop reserves the right to request additional documentation or to suspend the sale of any product that fails to meet these requirements or poses a risk to consumer health.

Jewelry Products

TikTok Shop will allow the sale of jewelry products only by pre-approved sellers. Interested sellers must obtain prior approval from TikTok Shop and successfully complete the corresponding authorization process in order to list such products. The sale of jewelry products on TikTok Shop will be permitted by invitation only.It is the seller's responsibility to comply and commercialize products according to local regulations and standards.

Baby, Children and Maternity Products

Products for babies and children under 36 months of age, as well as maternity products specifically intended for pregnant and breastfeeding women are open only to Invited Sellers on TikTok Shop. These include but are not limited to:

• Baby food, vitamins and supplements.
• Breast pumps and related specialized maternity and breastfeeding.
• Maternity vitamins and supplements.
• Teething toys for babies, including teething necklaces or toys made of materials such as amber wood, silicone, or other elements strung on flexible materials.
• Toys, clothing furniture, or other products that may be intended for babies.
• Products that may pose a risk to babies, such as weighted blankets, blankets and quilts, drop-side cribs, bedside sleepers, padded crib bumpers, and similar items.
• Similar products without the necessary government permits or authorizations, or that do not comply with the applicable local laws and regulations.

Further Information and Audit

TikTok Shop may review and audit product information at any time. Additional audits may be performed to identify if any change in listing information violates our policy above. Products that are found to violate our Seller Performance Evaluation Policy and our TikTok Shop Product Listing Policy. may be removed from TikTok Shop.
TikTok Shop may temporarily or permanently suspend or remove the selling privileges of sellers who commit severe or repeated violations of this policy. We reserve the right to report sellers who violate local laws and regulations to the necessary legal authorities where appropriate.

Appeal

On occasion, our systems may block or remove product listings that are permitted to be sold on TikTok Shop, if incomplete or inaccurate product information is provided to us. Sellers should be mindful that some products that are legally able to be sold in their locale, state, or country are still prohibited under TikTok Shop policies. Sellers who do not believe their products should have been removed may raise a ticket through Seller Center to have TikTok Shop review the restriction.
