Product Quality Policy

Purpose and Scope

The TikTok Shop MX Product Quality Policy (the "Policy") sets forth the requirements and expectations for Sellers when they list products on TikTok Shop. This policy supplements TikTok's Community Guidelines and, [TikTok Shop's Creator Terms of Use, and/or Seller Terms of Service] (collectively, "TikTok Terms").
This policy is not intended as legal advice. For any questions regarding local laws and regulations, we encourage all users to seek independent legal advice.This policy is updated periodically. Sellers must check this document regularly to ensure compliance with our current policy.
TikTok Shop reserves the right to make changes to any policy at any time without prior notice.

Policy Statements

All TikTok Shop sellers are required to comply with this policy. The TikTok Shop MX Product Quality Policy sets forth the expectations for Sellers on TikTok Shop. These requirements are designed to ensure that products listed on the platform adhere to rigorous standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

Seller Responsibility

The following are TikTok Shop's (TTS) expectations of sellers:

• Sell high-quality products: Sellers must ensure that the products they source meet high-quality standards. This includes verifying the reliability of suppliers and the quality of materials used.
• Ensure listing accuracy and completeness: Sellers must provide detailed and accurate information about their products, ensuring that products received by customers match their descriptions on the product detail page.
• Monitor and respond to quality issues: Sellers must review customer feedback on their listings and take corrective actions to address and improve the quality of their products to maintain customer satisfaction.

Flagging of Product Quality Issues

Products may be flagged with a product quality issue as a result of the following:

• Low product ratings from buyers: learn more about negative reviews.
• High return rates due to seller-fault reasons: learn more about return & refund.
• Customer complaints submitted to our customer support team

Selling products that do not meet product quality standards (such as those described above) may result in increased products' complaints and may also result in penalties, including warnings,displays limits,product freezes, product deactivations，up to and including account suspension.

General Product Quality Requirements

In addition to the responsibilities above, sellers must ensure that the products they list on TikTok Shop are as described and void of product quality issues.
Common product quality issues may include, but are not limited to:

• Products listed as "New" but arriving used, opened, or containing previous user data.
• Discrepancies in color, pattern, texture, size, features, and quantity between the product and its description.
• Products that are damaged, defective, misclassified, or misrepresented.
• Products past or close to their expiration date without giving the buyer reasonable time to use them.
• Beauty and Personal Care: Contamination/spoilage; broken/defective components; inconsistent color, texture, or fragrance; packaging defects
• Consumables: Contamination/spoilage; taste, smell, color, or appearance issues; foreign objects; expired products
• Home, Electronics, Office & Books: Defective or faulty parts; poor craftsmanship; surface defects; device not working; noticeable scratches; malfunction of critical components (e.g., exposed wires, overheating)
• Fashion：Fabric quality or defects; cracks; missing pieces; noticeable flaws affecting value (e.g., significant wear, faded colors)

Product Quality Requirements for Temperature-Sensitive and Expiration-Dated Products

• Product Expiration Date: Products that are subject to expiration must be labeled with an expiration date as required by applicable state and/or federal laws.
• Product Shelf Life: Food items must have a remaining shelf life that allows consumers sufficient time to use the product without compromising quality. The specific duration depends on the type of food, storage conditions, and product characteristics.
• Temperature-Sensitive Products: Products (chocolate, gummies, wax, etc.) that can melt or change state when exposed to high temperatures must be packaged in such a way to maintain product quality and integrity through shipping.

Product Inspection and Testing

TikTok Shop may conduct random inspections and testing to ensure seller compliance with TikTok Shop policies. This testing may include evaluating product quality and evaluating fulfillment processes.
Sellers are responsible for ensuring all listed products meet acceptable quality standards. Upon request, sellers must provide the necessary documents to verify the quality and integrity of their listed products.
A verification protocol may be implemented to ensure compliance with these standards. Additional testing may also be conducted to confirm or verify the authenticity of products listed on TikTok Shop. The testing criteria in TikTok Shop's policies include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring consistency between the physical products and the descriptions on the product and order detail pages.
• Verifying product compliance with relevant standards.
• Assessing product labelling, appearance, quality, and other related factors.
• Conducting drop tests to evaluate the ability of products and their packaging to withstand transportation and handling without damage.
• Any additional criteria as reasonably determined by TikTok Shop.

These inspections and tests do not exempt sellers from their legal responsibility to ensure that products comply with applicable laws and are safe for consumer use. TikTok Shop does not assume legal liability for the compliance or safety of third-party products listed on the platform.
TikTok Shop may take enforcement action against sellers whose products fail to meet our quality standards as outlined in the TikTok Shop Seller Enforcement Policy.

Flagging of Product Quality Issues

Products may be flagged with a product quality issue as a result of the following:

• Low product ratings from buyers
• High return rates due to seller-fault reasons
• Customer complaints submitted to our customer support team

Selling products that do not meet product quality standards (such as those described above) may result in increased negative reviews, and may also result in penalties, up to and including account suspension.

Policy Compliance

Compliance with TikTok Shop policies is required. TikTok Shop reserves the right to review an approved seller or creator account and any related documents to the account at any time.
TikTok Shop monitors seller compliance through a wide range of business tools, including but not limited to internal and external audits, in-app reporting, and algorithmic detection.

Non-Compliance

It is at the sole discretion of TikTok Shop to determine when Sellers and Creators are in violation of this policy and subsequently to take appropriate enforcement actions.
Non-compliance with this policy, including but not limited to attempts to circumvent the stated policy/process by bypassing or knowingly manipulating the process, system, or data, may result in enforcement actions, as set forth in the TikTok Shop Seller Enforcement Policy. Please note that repeated violations may result in stricter enforcement actions. Enforcement actions may include: warnings, product freezes, product deactivations, account restrictions, account suspension and account termination.

Appeals

If a Seller believes that an enforcement action was taken against them in error, they may file an appeal through Seller Center's "Shop Health" or the TikTok app by raising a ticket. TikTok Shop will investigate the appeal and if it is determined the violation/enforcement was in error, TikTok Shop will make the necessary corrections. It is the sole responsibility of the party submitting the appeal to collect, prepare, and upload all required supporting documentation supporting the appeal. TikTok Shop reserves the right to resolve appeals based on its internal policies and reasonable discretion.
