What are Invite Only Products?

Invite Only Products are certain categories of items that can only be sold once a seller has completed an approval process in Seller Center (My Account > Account Settings > Qualification Center). If you plan to sell in these categories, you must apply and submit the required documentation. Listing these products without approval may result in enforcement actions. Below are the main product categories that fall under this rule.

Dietary/Food Supplements

This category includes ingestible products (such as tablets, capsules, powders, and liquids) that aim to supplement the diet, including vitamins, minerals, and fitness or beauty supplements. Supplements must be correctly described and labeled in Spanish.
Sellers who wish to list the above types of products may be required to submit documents showing:

• A valid certification by the Protection against Sanitary Risks Federal Commission (COFEPRIS).
• Images displaying the principal display panel (PDP) and Information Panel of the product.
• Images of the physical product packaging, showcasing NOM-mandated labeling requirements, including but not limited to: product name, net contents, ingredients list, lot number, expiration date, nutrition label, and warning labels.

Automotive & Motorcycle

Sellers that list products in this category require pre-approval from TikTok Shop. This category includes certain motorcycle parts and automotive lights, such as motorcycle tires and accessories, filters, antifreeze and lubricants, mirrors, lighting, horns, frames and fittings, exhaust and emissions systems, cables and tubes, as well as car headlight bulbs (LED) and light covers.

Note: Sellers who wish to list these products require pre-approval from TikTok Shop.

Packaged or prepackaged foods and non-alcoholic beverages

This category includes packaged food products and non-alcoholic beverages. The sale of these products on TikTok Shop will be permitted by invitation only. Sellers must comply with all health regulations, including COFEPRIS guidelines, as well as NOM-051-SCFI/SSA1-2010 and its amendments

Pet food and supplements

This category includes pet food and supplement products. The sale of these products on TikTok Shop is permitted by invitation only. Sellers who wish to list the above types of products may be required to submit documents showing:

• Compliance with requirements established by COFEPRIS and SENASICA (National Service for Agrifood Health, Safety and Quality).
• A valid SENASICA registration number for the relevant products.

Jewelry Products

This category includes gold, silver, platinum & carat gold, natural crystal, ruby, sapphire & emerald, pearl, mellite, jade, diamond, and amber. The sale of jewelry products on TikTok Shop will be permitted by invitation only. It is the seller's responsibility to comply and commercialize products according to local regulations and standards.

Baby and Maternity Products

This category includes products used by babies and children under 36 months, as well as expectant mothers, including nursing and feeding, maternity supplies, formula milk and baby food, baby toys, baby travel gear, baby furniture, clothes, accessories, baby care and health.
The sale of baby and maternity products on TikTok Shop will be permitted by invitation only for local sellers. For cross-border sellers, baby and maternity products largely remain prohibited, but nursing and feeding as well as maternity supplies will be permitted by invitation only. For certain categories in cross-border operation, sellers must meet requirements to ship goods to Mexico.
Sellers must comply with all health regulations, including COFEPRIS guidelines, NOM guidelines and applicable consumer safety warnings depending on the product type and its amendments (like NOM‑131 for infant formulas and foods for infants and young children (including nutritional specs and mandatory marketing restrictions); NOM‑141 for cosmetics, care and health; NOM-024 for electrical/electronic baby products).

What happens if I breach these guidelines?

If any of these rules are not followed, enforcement actions may be applied to your account to help keep our platform safe and compliant.
