Policy Principle
TikTok Shop is committed to ensuring that all products sold on the platform are safe and compliant.
The sale of recalled or unsafe products is strictly prohibited.
As permitted by applicable laws, you should bear all costs associated with recalls of your products. If TikTok Shop ends up bearing costs associated with recalls of your products, including but not limited to costs related to collecting products, actions from authorities, customer complaints, administrative proceedings, lawsuits etc., TikTok Shop may recoup such costs from you via any means, including by deducting from your funds, charging your payment methods or any other.
What is a Product Recall?
- Regulatory authorities (e.g., COFEPRIS, PROFECO, SENASICA)
- Manufacturers or brands
- Sellers
Safety Monitoring & Detection
- Customer complaints, reviews, and incident reports.
- Regulatory recall databases and public alerts.
- Manufacturer or seller notifications.
Scope of Enforcement
- Products officially recalled by manufacturers or sellers.
- Products subject to regulatory safety or quality alerts.
- Products identified as unsafe by the platform.
- Products that share the same identified defect, hazardous component, manufacturing process flaw, or design deficiency as the recalled product.
- Re-listed or duplicated products.
- Modified, rebranded, or bundled versions.
- Products with similar structure, function, or risk profile.
Platform Actions
- Remove or suspend product listings
- Freeze related inventory or restrict distribution
- Notify sellers and request additional information
- Notify affected customers when necessary
- Report safety issues to relevant authorities
Seller Obligations
- Remove all related listings and ads within 24 hours of the notification.
- Do not proceed with any shipments of this product.
- Do not relist or advertise products affected by the recall or safety alert.
- Verify recall status through manufacturers or official recall sources
- Cooperate with TikTok Shop investigations and provide required documentation
- Take corrective actions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Seek independent legal advice as appropriate.

Reinstatement Rules
- If the product is confirmed as recalled or unsafe, it must not be relisted
- If the product is not part of an official recall:
- Sellers must provide valid supporting evidence to guarantee the safety issues have been resolved.
- Products must meet all applicable compliance requirements before relisting
Enforcement Actions
- Listing removal or suspension
- Product or inventory freeze
- Account restrictions or penalties
Appeals
- If you believe an enforcement action was applied in error, you may submit an appeal through the TikTok Shop Seller Center, providing the necessary supporting evidence.
- If your product is officially lifted from recall, you may also submit an appeal with valid proof (e.g., recall withdrawal notice or manufacturer confirmation).
