TikTok Shop Creator Performance Evaluation Policy
Overview
Our Creator Performance Evaluation Policy applies to all TikTok Shop users who create and share e-commerce content. You are responsible for ensuring the e-commerce content you share on TikTok Shop complies with applicable laws and regulations. This policy is intended to facilitate creator compliance. It is not exhaustive and not intended as legal advice. We encourage you to seek legal advice if you have any questions about the laws and regulations concerning the e-commerce content you create or share.Our policies are updated periodically. You are responsible for checking this page regularly to ensure your compliance.
Definitions
- Creators refer to all users (including sellers) who create e-commerce content.
- Content refers to all forms of media that can be uploaded or otherwise made available to users on TikTok Shop. This includes all available formats such as e-commerce shop windows, videos, and live streams.
- Violation Points refers to violation points that are issued to creators who violate our policies and guidelines.
- Enforcement actions are actions that TikTok Shop may take against creators who violate our policies. This includes but is not limited to removing the creator's right to use TikTok Shop to promote products.
Enforcement Actions (General)
You must comply with our TikTok Shop Content Policy when sharing any e-commerce content, including livestreams, showcases, short videos, cover images, hyperlinks, anchor products, titles, and descriptions.We may take enforcement actions against you for violating our policies to the maximum extent permitted by applicable local law. The enforcement action taken is based on the severity or number of violations, or both.
In accordance with our Creator Terms of Use, we may remove your content at any time, for any reason, in our sole discretion, without notice to you, if it is not in compliance with our Community Guidelines or our policies. Further, we may suspend or permanently disable access to your Creator Center account, ability to provide Creator Services, and your creator e-commerce permission if we reasonably believe that you have violated our terms or policies.
We may also take joint enforcement actions on a seller's account if their linked creator account violates our TikTok Shop policies.
A non-exhaustive list of the actions we may take include:
- Restrictions on the number of shoppable videos they can post and how often they can post shoppable videos.
- Removing the creator's product link
- Removing or blocking content
- Submitting formal warning messages
- Withdrawing a creator's e-commerce permissions (whether temporarily or permanently)
- Commencing legal action against the creator
- Reporting the creator to the relevant regulatory authorities for prosecution
- Providing any necessary information on the creator's account to regulatory authorities
- Accumulating multiple Violation Points
- Removing any traffic, exposure, or platform recommendation
- Withholding Creator Commissions
- If TikTok Shop determines that a creator has violated any TikTok Shop content policies, it reserves the right to suspend the creator's account and/or withhold creator commissions for up to 90 days.
- Furthermore, if the creator account is found to have engaged in deceptive, abusive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, TikTok Shop will permanently withhold all commissions from the creator's account.
- Removing content from the account
- Restricting or permanently blocking the account
- Removing overall TikTok Shop permissions
- Repeated policy violations may lead to the removal of your e-commerce permissions. This can happen even if your CHR points are within acceptable limits.
- Creators who repeatedly commit the same policy violation may result in enhanced penalties or have their e-commerce permissions removed immediately.
Violation Points
Violation Points are points issued to creators who violate our policies and guidelines. Accruing Violation Points increases the likelihood that you will receive corrective action or be removed from the TikTok Shop platform.Violation Points received will be reset every 90 calendar days, beginning from the date such points were issued.
Risk Behavior Control
TikTok Shop reserves the right to impose a suspension on your account (including video, live, and product showcase), to the maximum extent permitted by applicable local law, when a creator:- Involves themselves in severe violations that have been uncovered or reported by public media, user reports, and complaints
- Engages in illegal behavior that has caused or may cause actual damage and adverse effects to TikTok Shop
- Repeatedly violates our policies or Terms of Service.
Appeal
If a creator does not agree with the application of an enforcement action, they can file an appeal through Creator Center by raising a ticket. TikTok Shop will investigate the appeal and if it is determined by TikTok Shop, in its sole discretion, that the enforcement may be overturned, TikTok Shop will proceed accordingly.Appeals operate as follows:
- Creators can raise a maximum of two appeals against one case.
- The first appeal must be raised within 30 days of enforcement.
- The second appeal can be raised within 15 days of rejection of the first appeal.
- If the creator's appeal is successful, TikTok Shop will remove any associated enforcement actions issued.
- All decisions made by TikTok Shop are made at our sole discretion and are final after the second appeal is completed.
- Any appeals raised after the timelines mentioned above will not constitute a valid appeal and will not be reviewed by TikTok Shop.
- Collecting and preparing all supporting documents.
- Providing a clear explanation of why the Creator does not agree with the enforcement action taken against them.
- Providing any additional materials or information that may be required by TikTok Shop.
